Natalie Dormer
(born 11 February 1982) is an English actress. Her honors include an Empire
Award, nominations for Critics' Choice Awards and two Gemini Awards, and two
Screen Actors Guild Awards. Dormer was born in Reading, Berkshire. She was
known by playing the character of Anne Boleyn in the part she played in the
Showtime series The Tudors (2008), which received acclaim from the public. In
Sweet Nothings (2010), she made her stage debut. She she also played the
Duchess Of York in Madonna's W.E. (2011) as well as Private Lorraine in Captain
America: The First Avenger (2011). The performance she gave in After Miss Julie
(2012) at the Young Vic was praised. Dormer was a target of international
attention and accolades for her performance as Margaery Tyrell on the HBO
series Game of Thrones (2012-2016) and Cressida in the last two segments of The
Hunger Games franchise (2014-2015), which rank as the highest-grossing of her
films. She has also appeared as Irene Adler/Moriarty for the CBS series
Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016) and voiced
Onica in the TV series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). She was
awarded acclaim for her role as the lead in the mini-series Penny Dreadful:
City of Angels (2020). Dormer was born in Reading (Berkshire), England on 11
February 1982. She is the daughter of Gary Dormer, Claire Richards, and
Samantha Dormer.
