2 Chainz Biography

Tauheed Epps (also known as 2 Chainz), is a popular American rapper and hip hop artist. Georgia native, Epps began his musical career when he and a high school buddy formed the hip hop group Playaz Circle. Their first album, titled Supply & Demand', was a disappointing success. Epps later released 'Based on a T.R.U. Story', his debut studio album. It was a huge hit, and debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard 200. It was an enormous hit and sold 147,000 copies in the first week! Following the release of the album, he has not looked back and has become one the best rappers in the US. He has been shortlisted for six Grammy awards to date and has won one, for his track "No Problem". After he was found with marijuana and promethazine in his bag, he was taken off a flight from Los Angeles International Airport. This caused controversy. However, his run-in with the law hasn't affected his popularity. His fourth album, and the most recent one entitled "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music" was released in June 2017. "Based on a T.R.U. Story, 2 Chainz’s first studio album, can be described as his debut album and also his most popular. It was a big success, and peaked at the first position in the US Billboard 200, as it selling 147,000 copies in a week. The album was sold out to 623,000 over a year. It was nominated for the Grammy Award in the category of Best Rap Album' at the 55th Grammy Awards. The majority of reviews were mixed. 2 Chainz married Kesha Wade in 2013. The couple has three kids: Heaven, Harmony and Halo. Despite having a successful career, he's notorious for his brushes with the law. He has been detained several times for possession of drugs
