At the age of 18, Peregrym began her professional life with the Lizbell Agency. In her initial modeling career when she was encouraged by her agency to switch into commercials.Due to this transition from screen to print, she acted in commercials for Mercedes-Benz, Sprint Canada, and for the Olympic Games. Peregrym's first acting role came in 2000 in the Vancouver episode of Dark Angel. Building upon her debut role, she performed as a guest in The Chris Isaak Show, The Chris Isaak Show, Black Sash, Jake 2.0, Smallville, Tru Calling, Life as We Know It Andromeda, Heroes as well as in the TV movie Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss. Following an uncredited appearance in 2004's superhero film Catwoman Peregrym made her film debut in 2006, playing the lead role in Stick It, a film that follows a rebellious teenager who is forced to go back to her previous life of gymnastics. Peregrym was then chosen to play Candice Wilmer, an illusion-generating Candice in the show Heroes. The character was described in promotional material as "a female temptress". [8] Peregrym was scheduled to appear in "Parasite", however she only made her debut appearance in an episode called "Company Man" the week before. Peregrym played her first main television role as a lead on The CW series Reaper from 2007 to the year 2009. Nikki Reed initially played the role in the unaired pilot. Reaper was about a boy named Sam who becomes a bounty hunter for devil.
